Replacement Cushion Cover Buying Guide

A new cover can refresh the look of a cushion while keeping an insert that is still suitable. The first step is to distinguish a cover-only product from a complete cushion and from a model-specific replacement part.

What do you need to replace?

  • Cover only: the outer fabric cover; a cushion insert is not included.
  • Complete cushion: choose a cushion product and review its included filling and available options.
  • Replacement insert: filling sold for a specified model or configuration; check whether an outer cover is included.

Measure the insert you will keep

Record width, depth and thickness, or diameter and thickness for a round insert. Check its shape, corners and condition. Do not assume the measurements of a stretched old cover describe the insert accurately. Read the custom cushion measuring guide before entering dimensions.

Choose a cover for your seating

Compare bench cushion covers, window-seat cushion covers and banquette covers. For a sofa, distinguish single-seat covers, couch cushion covers and back cushion covers.

Fitted covers and stretch slipcovers are different

These custom cushion-cover listings ask you to choose the dimensions and options offered for an individual cushion. Do not assume they are a universal stretch cover for a whole sofa. For shaped cushions, unusual corners or uncertain measurements, ask us before ordering.

Match replacement parts to the original model

Bean bag, lounger, pouf and ottoman replacement parts can be model-specific. Match the product name, size and purchase option rather than choosing by appearance alone. Browse replacement covers and inserts, and ask about compatibility if you cannot identify the original item.

Check fabric, care and your final selection

Compare fabric swatches and read the fabric guide. Removable does not automatically mean machine washable or suitable outdoors. Review the exact fabric, dimensions, finishing options and configured price before placing your order. Need a new insert as well? Explore complete custom cushions.
